
Chief (Ret.) James Hawthorne, MS, is a retired Chief of Police for the Cedar Hill Independent School District, where he led school-based public safety and oversaw Victim Services programs supporting specialized investigative units handling homicide, domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking cases.
He also served as an Assistant Police Chief with the Arlington, Texas Police Department, retiring after 28 years of service. His work includes deep experience in community relations, interagency coordination, and policy development.
Chief Hawthorne earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
